2015-16 proved to be yet another impressive season for CUWLC and the Club has managed to build on the success of past years to cement its position as one of the top lacrosse clubs in the country.

The Blues retained their South Premiership title for the 10th consecutive year, and without dropping a single match. They carried this form onto Varsity, beating Oxford 7-3 away from home. Having progressed through the BUCS Knockout rounds to the semi-finals, the Blues faced formidable opposition in Birmingham, and despite pushing them all the way into extra time and golden goal, were unlucky to lose 15-14, thereby placing 3rd overall.

The Kingfishers have likewise demonstrated tenacity this year, beating several first teams in the league to achieve second place. A close loss at varsity only spurred the team on to progress further than their dark blue counterparts in the BUCS knockout rounds, and following an impressive victory over highly rated opposition Exeter who beat Oxford in the previous round, the Kingfishers made it to the BUCS Trophy finals. A valiant effort from the Kingfishers saw Edinburgh 1sts win the final 16-8. It is an incredible achievement to have reached the finals, and has crowned the Kingfishers the best 2nds team in the country! Amazing work from an amazing team!
