13 – 9

After a quick start by Loughborough, putting them ahead 1-nil, Cambridge fought their way back with the first goal by fresher Dillingham. Unfortunately Loughborough responded with three more goals as we failed to capitalise on the ground balls. Picking up our tenacity we regained three more goals with some quick drives from Bella Peters and strong shots from Lewis to finish the half at four all. After an inspirational team talk by captains Withers and Holden, Cambridge came out guns blazing and scored two goals with Thellusson bossing the centre draws. We had a strong defence including Paterson’s lovely 1v1s. However, Loughborough fought back and scored on us multiple times. With a draw and less than 10 minutes to go, Cambridge conceded a few goals resulting in a disappointing but closely battled score of 13-9 to Loughborough.
