After some great map reading skills by Bex and Fenella the Kingies arrived at Oxford Brookes for their first game of the season. After a slow start, Cambridge began to dominate possession and secured their first two goals after some impressive midfield transitions.Towards the end of the half however, as players became tired, Oxford scored twice to make the game even. In the second half the defence put on a great display with special mention to Emma Bennett who had some great interceptions. The attack was also where Lizzie Withers, player of the match, came into her element and Cambridge managed to score two more goals. Towards the end of the game, Oxford Brookes began to dominate and despite the defence holding them off for a long time, and some confusion as to the score, it ended as a four all draw. Special mention goes to the many freshers on the team who all put in a great effort for their first match.
